At Cory's Little Angels Daycare, children are provided a safe, nurturing, interesting and natural environment to learn and grow.
I try to provide as many natural items that are open-ended for children to explore and use in ways that interest and challenge them.
Children spend a good part of their day actively playing and exploring. During this time children have the ability to really expand on their play and imagination. They interact with each other and learn social skills and ways to positively interact with each other. During this time children are able to problem solve for themselves, this allows them to gain experience with working with others.
The outside environment offers many open-ended ways to play as well. Children have swings, slides, sand box, a sensory table, various climbers, wheeled toys, push toys, a construction zone, a small house, gravel, grass, rocks, tree stumps, tress for shade and lots of space to run!
Children participate in art activities with many different kinds of art mediums (paint, crayons, markers, finger paint, and clay to name a few). Art projects are process art, not product art. The kids will also be using different sensory items such as: homemade slim that the kids make themselves, play dough, rice, small rocks, shells, beans, buttons, and much more.
